This latest documentary is an exciting addition to the already firm promise of cyberspace programming. For example, Discovery’s report on SpaceX’s historic Demo2 International Space Station mission won the 2021 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Special Event.
“Humanity’s quest to become a space colonizer has always been fascinating-it requires cutting-edge technology and the geniuses, dreamers and unconventional people who lead this ambition,” said documentary director Rudolf Herzog, who is Werner Son. (Werner Herzog is the executive producer and narrator of this film.)
“Last Exit is a new creative collaboration for my father and me, and we are very happy to work with such an innovative partner,” he added.
Discovery broadcasts more than 8,000 hours of original programming each year, and is broadcast in 220 countries/regions in nearly 50 languages.
“We are honored to work with Werner and Rudolph Herzog, who are uniquely trained to tell an ambitious and large-scale story,” said Lisa Holme, Discovery’s senior vice president of content and business strategy.
“Discovery has a strong history of creative leadership in exploration, space, and scientific stories. Discovery Plus is the perfect streaming home for “The Last Exit: Space.”
