The Colombian government is poised to take advantage of blockchain technology (XRP), according to recent reports. Ripple’s software and blockchain partner Peersyst Technology has announced that it has launched the first National Land Registry in XRP (XRPL) for more than 50 million Colombians.

The Barcelona-based firm made the announcement in a tweet on July 1, noting that it has been working on the project with Colombia’s Digital Government initiative and the country’s Ministry of Information Technology and Communications for more than a year.

According to Triple-A, 6.1% of the Colombian population owned a cryptocurrency in 2021, and 80% of Colombians expressed interest in cryptocurrencies in a survey.

Earlier, Romania announced the use of blockchain in the state document circulation — the authorities of this country use the Elrond blockchain.
